Transition from Cool to Warm Foods

What to Do: Begin to introduce more warm (Yang) foods as you move away from the cooling (Yin) foods of summer.

Examples:

Yang Foods: Root vegetables like carrots and parsnips, ginger, and whole grains like barley.

Yin Foods: Continue with some leafy greens but reduce water-rich fruits like watermelon.

Reason: As the weather cools, your body will appreciate the internal warmth provided by Yang foods. This transition helps.
