First training session of, 2023.

We started with the up-and-down movement, discussing why we used 3 inches of vertical movement where in the form were using, usually only one. We talked about how awareness of certain points on the body beyond the commonly known ones such as Ba Hui, Yongquan etc is useful for allowing the movement of energy to move through the body in all directions as we sink and release.

We then examined the Repulse Monkey, explaining how this was the movement that the originator of Tai chi (Chang San Feng) became enlightened. How it strengthens the kidney energy and encourages the flow of energy up the spine, and is therefore good for health.

We examined how to step backwards correctly, and how, by having an outward intention of the heels, it enables the hui yin to open and the energy to flow up the spine, which was revealed by Cheng, man-Ching.
